Insurance Advisors

The advisor community is made up of insurance brokers, company agents and financial advisors who are licensed to sell insurance on behalf of insurance companies. It is this community that initiates the insurance policy quotation process for the insurance companies, gathers the initial medical profile needed by the insurance underwriter to quote the policy, and at times requests additional medical records including Attending Physician Statements (APS).

Your challenges:

As an advisor, you want the best for your client, the insurance policy applicant. Simply put, you want answers for your clients as quickly as possible concerning the scope of coverage, cost and, if you are an independent agent or advisor, which insurance company is the best fit. When confidential information is required, these important questions cannot be answered until the underwriting team has the requested information in hand.

Keyfacts is your one-stop shop in gathering, reviewing and delivering this confidential information.

Here’s what we do:

  • Once we have received the order and the applicant's authorization, we get in touch with the medical community to secure the requested information.

  • Our database of over 100,000 doctors, specialists, hospitals and clinics ensures quick access to the medical community.

  • We have strong relationships and in some cases agreements in place with numerous medical institutions in order to expedite receipt of the requested confidential information.

  • Our follow up process is fully automated and we provide status reporting for our insurance clients as to our progress with the information retrieval process.

  • Our highly qualified personnel review the request against the information delivered to ensure that all required information has been duly received.

Here’s how we can help you:

  • Our comprehensive database and long-standing relationships ensure the fastest turnaround time possible.

  • Our medical reviewers ensure that no information is missing, for maximum efficiency.

  • Our nation-wide staff of call-centre employees makes over 50,000 follow-ups a month to the medical community – politely, ethically and professionally.

  • Our Teleview tele-underwriting service can free up your time, so you can further develop your business while we take care of the details.

Tips on how we can work together to further speed up the APS process:

  • At the time of application please give us as much information as you can:

    • Accurate physician's name,

    • Full name of the applicant (including previous names, maiden names or aliases),

    • Where the applicant was seen by the physician/location of the medical file,

    • Keep in mind that some doctors work out of more than one location, e.g. hospital, medical clinic and private practice. Give us the location where the applicant has seen the doctor.

    • Let us know if the applicant doesn't have a family doctor or was treated at a walk-in clinic.

This makes it easier for us to locate the attending physician who will complete the report.

  • When you need a status update, let the medical professionals do their work – get prompt response from Keyfacts!

More than one call to the doctor or medical archivist can create frustration that may lead to a longer cycle time for the return of information to you. Let us take care of it. We have developed effective approaches to facilitate cooperation and timely results.

Your request is always high priority for us, and we're always here to help. You can either check online (with insurance company approval), or call one of our toll-free numbers.

  • Sometimes the attending physician may want to see the applicant prior to completing the APS. Please advise your clients if this situation occurs.

  • In the event that the attending physician has not completed the APS report within 30 days, the applicant may wish to contact the physician directly to help speed up the process.
